The Gulf Medical University in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has consistently impressed the global medical education community with its ambition, innovation, and achievements. As one of the most economically developed and diversified markets in the GCC, the UAE upholds a robust healthcare ecosystem.

Aligned to the healthcare practice of the region, the students of the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Economics (BSc.HME) program at Gulf Medical University (GMU) organized an event ‘Healthcare 4.0 and the Evolution Towards Value-Based Care.’ The students designed and organized the event with the aim of introducing health professionals and management students to the essentials of Digital Health Technologies and Healthcare Delivery Systems for value-based care services.

The event, organized by BSc.HME students and facilitated by Dr. Lubna M. Abdel Jawad, CoHME and Dr. Liju Susan Mathew, College of Medicine, provided a platform for in-depth discussions and networking opportunities among peers and health professional students from various medical educational programs at GMU.

The student coordinator, Ms. Asna reflected, “This event not only allowed us to team up and explore together; but also showcase our full potential.”
Dr. Sudhir Rana, Program Director of BSc.HME program, added, “Engaging in events enhances student learning, empowering them to excel as forward-thinking healthcare professionals and champions of sustainable healthcare practices for the future.”

The participants at the event affirmed their commitment to advocating and adopting value-based care models, aiming to enhance the quality of care for the public and community and assist them in leading healthier lives.
