In continuation to the series of Health Professions Education Journal Club at Gulf Medical University, Dr. Muhammad Abdullatif, Associate Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology, College of Pharmacy presented a research paper titled “Performance of ChatGPT on USMLE: Potential for AI-assisted medical education using large language models” on the 10th May 2023. The session was moderated by Dr. Walid Elsayed, Associate Dean, College of Dentistry, GMU.
During the session, Dr. Abdullatif discussed the remarkable performance of ChatGPT, a cutting-edge large language model developed by OpenAI, in assisting medical students with their preparation for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). Attendees delved into the potential benefits of AI-assisted medical education, highlighting how the integration of large language models like ChatGPT can enhance learning outcomes and bridge gaps in knowledge acquisition.
