Dr. Pooja Adtani is currently the Assistant Professor of Oral Histopathology at the College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, Ajman since 2017. She graduated from Bharati Vidhyapeeth Deemed University, Pune and received her Master’s and Doctoral degree from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), Chennai, India in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, India.

Her research interest includes developing a ‘targeted antifibrotic therapy for Oral Fibrosis’. She has worked extensively on the molecular pathways involved in oral fibrosis particularly the TGFbeta/Smad pathway with active phytoconstituents and plant extracts.

Dr. Pooja has several publications to her credit in various international and national indexed journals. She also has several appreciation certificates awarded following participation and contributions in national and international dental congresses, conferences and workshops.

She is zealous about learning innovative teaching and learning strategies to enhance student learning and performance. This interest led her to pursue the ‘Joint Master’s in Health Profession Education’ (JMHPE) program offered by GMU in collaboration with the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER). She was awarded the master’s degree in Health Professions Education in 2021.
