The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University marked the Earth Day with a vibrant and interactive event focused on Eco-Friendly Dentistry on the 22nd of April 2025. The event was supported by industry partner Curaden.
Students from various colleges and programs gathered to learn about sustainable dental practices and their role in reducing the carbon footprint of healthcare. Educational posters and insightful presentations prepared by dental students showcased innovations in green dentistry, from biodegradable materials to waste reduction strategies.
The event featured a lively Kahoot quiz on sustainable dental practices, with gift vouchers awarded to the winners. Participants also explored interactive stations, played sustainability-themed games, and viewed a bamboo toothbrush display, promoting eco-conscious oral care alternatives.
This initiative served as a platform to raise awareness on how everyday dental practices can contribute to a healthier planet, reinforcing GMU’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.
