The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University (GMU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), Ajman successfully conducted a community engagement dental camp at the Municipality Labour Camp, Ajman industrial area on the 18th of February 2025.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from 20 dental student volunteers (Year 1–5 BDS), 15 dental interns, and volunteers from the Emirates Falcon Volunteer Team. With the support of Mr. Amal Yousuf Al Housani, MOHAP Ajman representative, a total of 120 patients from the labour camp were successfully screened. The initiative focused on detailed patient history taking, intraoral examinations, and oral health education, including proper brushing techniques demonstrations. Patients also received oral hygiene kits with toothbrushes and toothpaste from Curaprox, ensuring continued care beyond the event.
This initiative reflects the College of Dentistry’s commitment to promoting oral health awareness and supporting community well-being through education and service.
