GMU’s College of Dentistry actively participated at the UAE’s First Dental Students’ & Interns Research Symposium organized by Appolonia World Dentistry on the 21st of April 2024, in Abu Dhabi.

Dental undergraduates, interns, and postgraduates presented interesting research studies at the symposium. Dr. Roghith Kannan presented a research study titled ‘The Effectiveness of Three Rotary File Systems on The Elimination of Enterococcus Faecalis in Single Rooted Teeth: An In Vitro Study’. Dr. Haima Khafaii, Dr. Ghazia Kiyani, and Dr. Maria Morise presented a research paper titled ‘Challenging the Status Quo: A Groundbreaking Investigation into Dental Bullying in UAE Schools’. Dr. Marwa Abdullah, Dr. Noor Alhussein Al-yasiri, and Dr. Omar Maher explored the importance of technology in dentistry by presenting a study titled ‘AI versus HI: Exploring Capabilities of AI in OMFS Diagnosis and Treatment Planning’. Lastly, Dr. Sarah AlHalyan offered a glimpse into the future through her research on ‘3D Vision of Future Dental Clinics Designed for Patients of Determination’. The research studies were supervised by Dr. Bassem Mohamed, Associate Professor of Endodontics, Dr. Ranya Elemam, Assistant Professor of Endodontics, Dr. Sabrin Ali Azim, Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Mohammed Shoaib, Lecturer & Specialist of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Ayman Khalifa, Associate Professor of Orthodontics, Dr. Riham HadjHamou, Lecturer & Specialist in Orthodontics, and Dr.Pooja Adtani, Assistant Professor of Oral Histopathology.
Overall, the symposium served as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange within the dental community.
