Prof. Hesham Marei, Dean, College of Dentistry, delivered a keynote lecture titled ‘Advantages and Limitations of Computer Guided Implant Surgery’ on the 11th of November 2023, at the 1st Middle East Key Conference held at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai in collaboration with Total Core Academy. The conference was attended by faculty members from the College of Dentistry, along with numerous other experts in the field.
During the session, Prof. Marei highlighted the transformative potential of integrating computational techniques into traditional dental procedures. He emphasized on the role of technology in enhancing precision, minimizing errors, and ultimately improving patient outcomes. Prof. Marei explained these concepts through a live surgery, showcasing the real-time application of technological advancements.
Prof. Marei also addressed concerns related to technological dependencies, ethical considerations, and the evolving role of the dental practitioner in a digitally enhanced surgical environment.
