In continuation to the Faculty Development Program series, the Quality Assurance and Program Effectiveness Committee of the College of Dentistry, GMU organized a faculty development workshop on ‘Exploring Innovative Digital Applications in Dental Education and Practice’ on the 10th of November 2023 which was facilitated by Dr. Diaaelden Farag, Associate Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics and Dr. Tarek Elsewify, Associate Professor of Endodontics, COD.
The workshop provided a dynamic platform for faculty members to engage with the latest advancements in digital applications within the field of dentistry. The workshop offered scanning of dental models, as well as digital designing of veneers, crowns, inlays, onlays. Designing and fabrication of surgical guides through 3D printing were also practiced. Participants were guided through hands-on sessions, demonstrating the practical integration of digital tools to enhance teaching methodologies and advance clinical practices.
