An orientation program for year 1 MDS Periodontics and Endodontics students was conducted on the 31st of August, 2023 by the College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University. Students were welcomed and briefed on academic/clinical training requirements and workplace assessment by Prof. Hossam Abdelmagyd, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, MDS Periodontics Program Director, and Dr. Bassem Eid, MDS Endodontics Program Director. Dr. Danvanthi Bangeera, Medical Director, Thumbay Dental Hospital, Ajman introduced the students to general protocols, workflow charts, and MRD data acquisition to be followed during postings. Students were also provided information regarding the role of nurses in training dental students by Ms.Beena, Nurse Thumbay Dental Hospital, patient information policy by Mr.Sunil KA, Head of Department, Medical Records, Fire safety measures by Mr.Shoaib, Fire Safety Officer and Prevention and Control of Infection by Dr.Fiaz Ahamed, Head of Department, Infection Control. The program concluded by inviting students for a tour of the university and hospital facilities.
