College of Dentistry, GMU celebrated the ‘World Antimicrobial Awareness Week’ on the 18th of November 2021, following the theme by WHO ‘Spread Awareness, Stop Resistance’. The event was organized by the community engagement committee of COD, under the guidance of respected Dean, Prof. Hesham Marei and Dr. Walid Elsayed, Associate Dean Academics.
The event included delivery of information advising the appropriate use of antibiotics in dentistry in the form of brochures and videos recorded by students which were broadcasted during the event. On this occasion, dentistry students also participated in the competition organized by ‘Doctors without Borders’, an international humanitarian medical non-governmental organization. Students and faculty of various colleges actively participated.
