The white coat ceremony is a ritual proudly followed by the Gulf Medical University. During the ceremony, a white coat is donned by each student and the Hippocratic Oath is recited, signifying their entrance into the medical profession.
The solemn ceremony was conferred on October 1, 2020 in the gracious presence of Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Honorable President of Thumbay Group, Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice-President of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group and the board members of Gulf Medical University; respected Chancellor Prof. Hossam Hamdy, Vice Chancellor Academics Prof. Manda Venkataramana and respected Dean of College of Dentistry Prof. Hesham Marei.
Ms. Maria Morise and Mr. Mohamad Jamal Alsuwaidi received the white coat on stage from Honorable President, Dr. Thumbay Moideen on behalf of the DMD students. Students, Ms. Hedaia Ali Alaslai and Athba Omar Almazzami participated virtually. The event was aired live on Youtube for faculty, students and parents. It was a proud moment for Gulf Medical University, students and parents.
