My Summer Internship Experience

Working as a trainee at the Proficiency Healthcare Diagnostics, Sharjah has been an incredible experience. I worked at 4 different departments which were phlebotomy, haematology, biochemistry and serology. During this period, I have gained some valuable knowledge and skills. In addition to this, I have learnt the biosafety guidelines and precautions that have to be practised in the Laboratory.

My time at PHD lab was enjoyable as it helped me utilize all the techniques I have learned at Gulf Medical University.  I was overwhelmed by the work and the responsibilities that were given to me, but with the help of my supervisors who have had years of experience in the laboratory, I felt more confident and supported as I knew my work would be double checked. By observing and learning from them, I managed to pick up tips and learned different types of skills.

Overall, my work experience at proficiency healthcare diagnostics was positive. I was very happy with the amount of knowledge I have gained. I ended up learning a lot more than I thought I would be able to in such a short period.
