Pediatric Vision Care: CoHS, GMU’s Department of Optometry Participated in “What & How Does My Child See?” Symposium

Narayana Nethralaya’s three-day symposium, “WHAT & HOW Does My Child See?” conducted between 18th-20th of April 2025 at Bangalore, India, brought together leading experts in pediatric vision care to discuss cutting-edge developments in Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), Amblyopia, Binocular Vision, And Low Vision Rehabilitation. The event, accredited with CME credits by the Optometry Confederation of India (OCI), featured a rich blend of hands-on training, scientific sessions, and panel discussions.

On the 19th April 2025, Dr. Jameel Rizwana Hussaindeen, Associate Professor & Program Director, Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Gulf Medical University, UAE, delivered two impactful presentations on:

  • Amblyopia: Updates to Assessment and Management
  • Binocular Vision Testing Made Easy

Her sessions also engaged in case-based discussions reinforcing the need for early detection, emphasizing clinical simplicity without compromising scientific rigor, resonating with clinicians and educators alike.
