GMU College of Health Sciences hosts orientation for 2025 MSC. Medical Ultrasound Cohort

Department of Medical Imaging Sciences, College of Health Sciences (CoHS), Gulf Medical University (GMU), officially welcomed the 2025 cohort of Master of Science in Medical Ultrasound (MSc. MUS) students through a comprehensive orientation session on August 30, 2025.

The program opened with an inspiring welcome address by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of CoHS, who emphasized GMU’s mission of preparing skilled imaging professionals who combine innovation, precision, and patient-centered care. He said “Your journey in medical ultrasound begins here at GMU, where cutting-edge technology meets world-class expertise. We are committed to supporting you as you advance your knowledge and contribute to the future of medical imaging.”

Following this, Dr. Mostafa Abdelrahman, Program Director of MSc. MUS delivered an in-depth overview of the academic calendar, policies, academic integrity standards, and program expectations.

Dr. Mostafa also the Semester Coordinator for MSc. MUS, guided students through Semester 1 course content, weekly schedules, and assessment methods, ensuring they start their studies with clarity and confidence.

Students were introduced to GMU’s advanced learning ecosystem with:

  • A technology orientation led by Mr. Suraj Sebastian, showcasing the Learning Management System (LMS) and Folio 360 for academic tracking and e-portfolio development.
  • A Registrar’s session by Mr. Aslam Kutty, outlining enrollment services and administrative support.
  • A library orientation by Dr. Ramprasad M., demonstrating access to research databases and scholarly resources.
  • A Student Affairs session by Ms. Liza Kaminzada, highlighting student life, wellness initiatives, and support services.

The event concluded with refreshments and networking opportunities, setting the tone for a year of collaboration and growth.
