Gulf Medical University is proud to announce that Dr. Rizwana Hussaindeen, Program Director & Associate Professor of Optometry and Vision Sciences, represented the institution at the prestigious Myopia Conclave 2025. The virtual event, held on March 23, 2025, in celebration of World Optometry Day, brought together over 30 international speakers and welcomed more than 2,000 registrants.

Organized by the United Optometrist Forum (UOF), the Myopia Conclave 2025 featured a 3D Metaverse platform, attracting 1,432 live attendees. The event was accredited for 5.5 CME credits by the Dubai Health Authority.
Dr. Rizwana played a key role in the conference:
- Moderating the session “Decoding Myopia: Insights from Science to Strategy” facilitating dynamic discussions on contemporary trends, scientific breakthroughs, and clinical protocols shaping the future of myopia care
- Delivering a presentation on “Binocular Vision in Myopia Management.” shedding light on the often-overlooked role of binocular vision anomalies in Myopia.
Her participation underscores Gulf Medical University’s commitment to advancing global dialogue on vision science and delivering research-informed, patient-centered care in myopia management.
This achievement highlights GMU’s dedication to excellence in optometry education and research, further solidifying its reputation as a leader in the field.
