MLS Professionals’ Week 2025: Celebrating Excellence in Diagnostics by the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Cohs

Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) at the College of Health Sciences (CoHS) marked MLS Professionals Week with a vibrant celebration on Thursday, April 24, 2025. This annual global event honors the dedication, expertise, and impact of medical laboratory professionals in the healthcare system.

Organized with enthusiasm and innovation by MLS students, the event offered a perfect blend of scientific exploration and engaging activities. Visitors experienced a series of interactive booths and live demonstrations across key MLS disciplines, including:

  • Microbiology
  • Hematology
  • Clinical Chemistry
  • Molecular Biology
  • Blood Banking

These educational exhibits were complemented by fun-filled games, quizzes, and competitions that highlighted the students’ creativity and depth of knowledge.

The celebration was graced by Thumbay Lab staff – who play a critical role in diagnostic services, students and faculty. In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, MLS students presented thank-you gifts to the Thumbay Lab professionals, recognizing their invaluable contributions to patient care and public health.

The day’s events not only showcased the academic excellence of the MLS program but also reflected the professionalism, teamwork, and passion of the future leaders in laboratory medicine.
