An Inter Professional Education case discussion session was conducted at Thumbay Hospital Ajman on December 11, 2018 in a case of “Oral Submucous Fibrosis”. Students from Dental (Ms. Kavleen Kaur Kohli) and Pharmacy (Ms. Fatima Aya Ndanusa) colleges participated in the session along with Ms. Mizba zuber from III BPT program of College of Health Sciences. The entire session was planned as an interprofessional role play event, where the students interacted within themselves about the case and they explained about the role of each professional and their combined care in managing and improving patient’s problem. BPT student Ms.Mizba highlighted the physiotherapy assessment and management provided for the case and described the outcome results with masked photographic images and recorded improved mouth opening ranges. The dental and pharmacy students also presented their management strategies and narrated their role with suitable evidence. This interactive case presentation generated a lot of active discussion among the attendees and it collectively highlighted the importance of inter-professional teamwork in the management of patients.
