Enhancing Quality of Life through Physiotherapy – GMU’s PT Students Conduct Health Awareness Program for Employees of MAKS Engineering and Consultants, Dubai

Final-year BPT and MPT students at College of Health Sciences, Gulf Medical University organized a Health Awareness Program for office employees at MAKS Engineering and Consultants, Dubai, on January 30, 2025. The multi-disciplined firm, which combines Architectural Design with Engineering Visualization, hosted the event as part of their community engagement efforts.

The event, themed “Enhancing Quality of Life through Physiotherapy,” aimed to promote ergonomic practices, stress management techniques, and overall well-being among employees. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Satheeskumar, the students designed and executed the program.

Participating students, including Ms. Neda Pour (2023MPT07), Ms. Sara Matar (2021PT28), Ms. Fai Abdelaziz (2021PT14), Mr. Ammr Ahmed (2021PT49), Ms. Yara Fadel (2021PT37), Mr. Hamza Nashaat (2021PT44), and Ms. Khawla Hussein (2021PT22) conducted:

  • Pre-survey on ergonomic knowledge and practices.
  • Educational PowerPoint presentations on ergonomics and stress management.
  • Guided exercises to reduce workplace discomfort.

Dr. Ramprasad Chair – Department of Physiotherapy said, “This event showcased students’ commitment to promoting health awareness and applying theoretical knowledge in real life to build future careers in sports physiotherapy.”

This program provided students with hands-on experience in conducting effective Workplace Community Events. The event received positive feedback from the employees, who appreciated the students efforts in promoting and encouraging health awareness at the workplace and maintaining a work-life balance.
