GMU’s Ms. Ashli Shaji Leads Webinar on Global Advances in Airway Management and Emergency Techniques at Suiahs, India

The Srinivas University Institute of Allied Health Sciences (SUIAHS) successfully hosted an insightful webinar titled “Global Advances in Difficult Airway Management and Emergency Techniques” on June 13, 2025. The session, conducted virtually via Google Meet, was aimed at enriching the knowledge of allied health students with emerging clinical competencies.

The guest speaker for the event was Ms. Ashli Shaji, Preceptor from the Department of Anesthesia Technology, College of Health Sciences, Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE. With her extensive academic and clinical experience, Ms. Ashli delivered a comprehensive and engaging session focused on modern strategies and practical approaches in managing complex airway cases.

The presentation covered key areas such as the evolution of airway management, global guidelines, advanced tools and technologies, and critical emergency techniques. Highlighted emergency procedures included Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), the use of Supraglottic Airway Devices (SADs), and surgical interventions like cricothyroidotomy. Students were particularly engaged during the interactive Q&A segment, which fostered discussion around adaptability and best practices in high-pressure clinical settings.
