GMU’s Dr. Rizwana, Delivers Key Presentation at Emirates Society of Ophthalmology (ESO) 2025 Meeting, Abu Dhabi

Dr. Rizwana Hussaindeen, Program Director and Associate Professor of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the College of Health Sciences, Gulf Medical University (GMU), proudly represented the university as an invited speaker at the prestigious Emirates Society of Ophthalmology (ESO) 2025 meeting.

Held from February 7th – 9th, 2025 at the Hilton Abu Dhabi, Yas Island, ESO 2025 once again set the benchmark for high-quality continuing medical and healthcare education and brought together leading experts to advance eye care standards across the UAE and GCC. The conference featured insightful presentations, cutting-edge discussions, and invaluable networking opportunities.

Dr. Rizwana participated in the Pediatric Eye Care session, delivering a presentation on Prescribing Guidelines for Eyeglasses in Children. She shared the stage with esteemed speakers from the World Council of Optometry and the Middle East.

A Milestone for Optometry in the Region

The conference marked a significant milestone for the College of Health Sciences, GMU, as it highlighted the growing enthusiasm for the first-ever Optometry program in the region. This program is a testament to the expanding role of Optometry in shaping the future of eye care. The College of Health Sciences is proud to have established the first Optometry program in the region, and we are grateful for the support of our stakeholders.
