GMU College of Health Sciences hosts orientation for 2025 Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) students

Department of Physiotherapy, College of Health Sciences (CoHS), Gulf Medical University (GMU), welcomed the 2025 cohort of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) students at an engaging orientation held on August 30, 2025. The event introduced students to the curriculum, support services, and cutting-edge facilities that define GMU’s physiotherapy program.

The session began with an inspiring welcome by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of CoHS, who emphasized the university’s vision of preparing globally competent physiotherapists, “We are delighted to welcome this new BPT cohort. Physiotherapy is a dynamic and rewarding profession, and GMU is committed to providing a transformative learning experience with state-of-the-art facilities and expert guidance,” said Dr. Praveen Kumar.

Dr. Kumaraguruparan G, Program Director of BPT Program, presented the academic calendar, institutional policies, and academic integrity standards, giving students a clear understanding of expectations. Dr. Rajasekar Sannasi, Semester Coordinator, introduced Semester 1 courses, weekly schedules, and assessment methods to prepare students for a strong start.

Students were also guided through GMU’s resources and services, including:

  • A Learning Management System and Folio 360 session by Mr. Suraj Sebastian, demonstrating essential digital tools for academic success.
  • A Registrar’s briefing by Mr. Aslam Kutty, outlining administrative processes and registration procedures.
  • A Library orientation by Dr. Ramprasad M., highlighting GMU’s extensive collection of research and study materials.
  • A Student Affairs session by Ms. Liza Kaminzada, focusing on wellness initiatives, student engagement, and support programs.
