Dr. Watson Arulsingh, Associate Professor & MPT Program Director at the College of Health Sciences, Gulf Medical University, was an invited speaker at the 6th Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition Conference, held in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE on 29th May 2025. The high-profile event was organized by Emirates Health Services in collaboration with the Collaborative Care Conference, Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital, Obaidullah Geriatric Hospital, and leading healthcare professionals from across the country.
Dr. Watson delivered a compelling presentation titled “Impact of Nutrition on Physiotherapy Outcomes: Enhancing Muscle Strength and Function,” focusing on the pivotal role of nutrition in optimizing physiotherapy outcomes, particularly for hospitalized and critically ill patients.

During his evidence-based session, Dr. Watson emphasized the importance of continuous nutritional monitoring from the point of hospital admission, through the transition from ICU to general wards, and into outpatient care. He highlighted that integrating targeted nutritional support with physiotherapy interventions can significantly enhance motor performance, muscle strength, and long-term functional recovery.
