Dr. Aejaz Ahmad Represents College of Health Sciences, GMU at International Webinar on Anesthesia Practices

Dr. Aejaz Ahmad, Lecturer in the Department of Anesthesia Technology at College of Health Sciences (CoHS) Gulf Medical University (GMU), UAE, was a distinguished guest speaker at an International Webinar held on June 16, 2025. The event, titled “Adjuncts in Modern Anesthesia: Bridging Global Practices and Breakthroughs,” was hosted by the Department of Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology at Srinivas University,  Institute of Allied Health Sciences (SUIAHS), Mangalore, India.

Drawing from his extensive clinical expertise and academic experience in Anesthetic Techniques, Pain Management, Patient Assessment, and Monitoring, Dr. Ahmad delivered a compelling presentation that resonated strongly with participants from across the globe. His session focused on the critical role of “adjuncts” in modern anesthesia—referring to the complementary medications and techniques that enhance the effectiveness and safety of primary anesthetic agents.

During the presentation, Dr. Ahmad provided deep insights into the use of adjuncts such as Anticholinergics, Sedatives, Opioids, and Muscle Relaxants, emphasizing their importance in improving patient safety, optimizing pain control, and achieving better surgical outcomes in modern-day anesthetic practice.
