CoHS, GMU Congratulates Dr. Ayman Hussein Mohammed Al-Feel on UK Design Patent Registration for Groundbreaking Medical Innovation

College of Health Sciences at Gulf Medical University (GMU) extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Ayman Hussein Mohammed Al-feel, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, on his successful design registration at the Patent Office – UK Intellectual Property Office.

In collaboration with an international research team, Dr. Ayman has been awarded a registered design for an innovative wearable medical device. The UK Design Office issued Design No. 6431674 on March 20, 2025, for the “Wearable Blood Pressure Monitoring Device with Integrated Pulse Wave Velocity and Arterial Health Assessment.”

This pioneering wearable technology integrates traditional blood pressure monitoring with Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) analysis, a clinically recognized indicator of arterial stiffness. This comprehensive evaluation provides users with a more detailed assessment of cardiovascular health.
