
International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12th to commemorate the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Faculty of Nursing Sciences, COHS, Gulf Medical University also celebrated International Nurses Day on Sunday 14th May 2017.

Prof. Reetha Ismail, Program Director, Nursing Sciences welcomed the gathering. Prof. Hossam Hamdy, Chancellor, GMU presided as the chief guest and in his address emphasized on the vital role of nurses in the health care and his words were a real motivating force for the students & faculty. Prof. Gita Ashok Raj, Provost & Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of COHS, felicitated the occasion. Students shared their experiences and expectations regarding their profession. There was a Panel Discussion on the Nurses Day Theme, 2017- A Voice to Lead: Influencing improvement in the sustainable development goals by the faculty members followed by a role play by the students.
