On May 8, 2025, students, faculty and alumni of College of Health Sciences (CoHS) at Gulf Medical University (GMU) actively participated in the Annual Career Fair and Industry Partners Meet 2025, an event designed to bridge academic training with professional practice across healthcare disciplines. This initiative provided students and graduates with a unique platform to connect with industry professionals, explore career opportunities, and gain insights into emerging trends in their respective fields.


Department of Physiotherapy
The Department of Physiotherapy highlighted its collaboration with a broad spectrum of organizations including Sheikh Khalifa Medical Academy Hospital – Ajman, King’s College Hospital – Dubai, American Hospital – Dubai, Al Noor Training Centre – Dubai, Deraya Medical Academy. The department hosted insightful panel discussions on the evolving role of physiotherapists, AI in healthcare, HR trends, and portfolio building. Feedback from students and alumni reflected the fair’s impact as a transformative experience. Final-year students appreciated the exposure and guidance received, while alumni expressed pride in mentoring current students and witnessing the growth of their alma mater’s reputation.

Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences
The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences utilized the fair to connect students with industry professionals and offer them valuable exposure to job market dynamics. It acknowledged key partners like Thumbay Labs – Ajman, Pure Lab at Al Qassimi Hospital – Sharjah, and the Sharjah Blood Bank and Research Centre for supporting student clinical training and placements. This engagement underlines the university’s dedication to nurturing competent, industry-ready laboratory science professionals.

Department of Medical Imaging Sciences
The Department of Medical Imaging Sciences engaged in the event by identifying key industry partners and potential employers to enhance career pathways for its students. Ms. Samar El-Ferra, Vice President of the Radiographers’ Society and Director of Institutional Effectiveness & Accreditation at the University of Al Dhaid (UODH), contributed as a panel expert in discussions led by the GMU Chancellor. The department honored clinical training partners, from King’s College Hospital London – Dubai, Kuwait Hospital – Sharjah, and Al Qassimi Hospital – Sharjah, for their continued professional collaboration and contributions.

Department of Anesthesia Technology
The Department of Anesthesia Technology utilized the event to strengthen relationships with clinical and hospital partners, aiming to expand internship and placement opportunities for students. Institutions such as American Hospital – Dubai, and Rashid Hospital – Dubai were recognized for their pivotal role in providing practical training and mentorship. The department’s participation reflected GMU’s ongoing commitment to equipping graduates with essential, real-world skills aligned with the demands of modern healthcare.
