Department of Physiotherapy of CoHS, GMU welcomed and inducted new students’ of 2022 cohort of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program on September 8, 2022, by organizing an orientation program followed by “World Physiotherapy Day 2022” celebrations.
Orientation included a welcome address by Praveen Kumar, Dean, CoHS, followed by detailed information related to the study plan, graduation requirements were shared by Dr. Ramprasad M, Chairperson of the department. Dr. Kumaraguruparan Gopal, Program Director-BPT explained the teaching and learning methods, the academic calendar followed by the introduction of the lead faculty conducting different courses in the 1st year of the program. Further, the learning resources, different student supports services, students’ happiness center and procedures and policies to be followed in the university were explained in detail. Dr. Watson Arulsingh, Class Coordinator elaborated the weekly schedule and examination policies and procedures.

The Orientation session was concluded with the quate of the Dean, CoHS, “The students have begun an exciting professional journey with a bright future and career ahead, especially when they will be trained in GMU’s state-of-the-art facilities under highly qualified faculty”.


Following the orientation session students and parents participated in the celebrations of World Physiotherapy Day 2022 highlighting on the role and importance of Physical therapy Osteoarthritis organized by students and alumni.



Orientation session also included a tour of the facilities in GMU and Thumbay Physical therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital.
