Ms. Burcu Aydin
Director of Student Affairs
Burcu Aydin is an international educator and administrator who has become a global citizen due to her passion for traveling and teaching. She has had the greatest opportunities to work at several universities and schools in China, Taiwan, Malta, Spain, the UK, the USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and France. She holds an M.A. from California State University, Northridge in Educational Administration and Policy and a B.A. from the University of Southern California in Communications along with her teaching certificate and diploma from Spain and the U.K. Before GMU, she was working at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France for 3 years and served as a lecturer, admissions jury, and advisor. Since joining GMU in 2017, she has dedicated her time and efforts to ensure that students have the best possible experience at the university campus. At the Student Affairs department, she advocates students, assists them with personal matters, career planning, counseling, academic advising and supports extracurricular activities including student clubs and newsletter as well as a variety of all-school activities including orientation, local and international trips, events, conferences, competitions, and seminars. Additionally, she assumes the primary responsibility in developing and executing the housing operations in the residential halls as well as fosters a safe and a peaceful environment for the students who are accommodated in the university dormitory. She is a language enthusiast and has traveled over 50 countries.
