Prof. Milada Krejčí visits GMU

Prof. Milada Krejčí, PhD, Full Professor, Professor of Kinanthropology – Sports Humanities, College of Physical Education and Sport PALESTRA, Vice-Rector for Science and Research; Head of Department of Wellness and Nutrition Science, visited College of Health Sciences, Gulf Medical University, UAE on Friday,25th November 2022.

Dr. Milada delivered a talk on “Yoga Exercise intervention improves balance control and prevents falls in seniors aged 65+” to the Physiotherapy students.

Her major area of interest revolves around Wellness, Health and Quality of Life of community with special emphasis on geriatric population. She has many research projects in this domain and has published widely in same.

She shared her expertise by discussing one of her major research projects and its results which revealed that Yoga is an effective treatment strategy to improve balance and to prevent falls in senior citizens.

Feedback after the session showed that the students found the session to be impactful and the speaker made the session interactive and interesting.

The faculty of the Department of Physiotherapy was grateful to Dr. Milada Krejčí for her time and for sharing her expertise.
