As a part of the community engagement program, the ACP students of the Department of Physiotherapy, CoHS, GMU conducted an awareness session with the theme of “Diastasis Recti- What does it mean for pregnant and postnatal women” in collaboration with the OBG department at Thumbay University Hospital on 18.06.2022. The objective of the event was to raise awareness on recognition and management strategies of diastasis recti among pregnant women. ACP students under the supervision of Dr. Srilatha and Ms. Sivapriya raised awareness session for Pregnant women who were on antenatal consultation with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. All the participants of the event were educated on what is diastasis recti, how does it happen, the cues for diastasis recti, how to self-evaluate, what can be done to keep the core functioning well during pregnancy, post-partum and beyond.
