Physiotherapy Student CoHS, GMU Volunteered for the Physiotherapy Check-up Camp at Prime Petroleum FZA, Sharjah

Mr. Ibrahim Tarek, a final-year BPT program student, CoHS, GMU, participated in a Medical and Physiotherapy Check-up camp for workers held at Prime Petroleum FZA, Sharjah on January 16th and 17th, 2025, that aimed to promote health and physical fitness among industrial workers.

During the two-day camp at PRIME PETROLEUM FZC, a leading lubricants and petrochemicals company, Mr. Tarek worked closely with workers experiencing lower back pain, knee pain, and neck pain. He provided targeted treatments and guided them through specific exercises designed to alleviate discomfort and enhance recovery.

This community initiative aimed at supporting workers’ health, helping them return to their roles with renewed strength and confidence. Mr. Tarek gained valuable experience applying collaborative physiotherapy practices in non-clinical settings, which reflects GMU’s commitment to community service and experiential learning.

Dr. Praveen, Dean, College of Health Sciences, commented, “This initiative not only benefited the workers but also provided our students with hands-on experience in applying physiotherapy techniques in real-world settings, reinforcing our commitment to community engagement and experiential learning.”
