Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, College of Health Sciences, GMU welcomed and inducted new students’ of 2023 cohort of Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (MSc. MLS) program on September 9th, 2023, by organizing an orientation program.
Orientation included a welcome address by the Dean, CoHS, followed with an address by Dr Ahmed Luay, Chairperson, Medical Laboratory Sciences Department “I want to emphasize the importance of your role in shaping the future of healthcare. Our department is at the forefront of scientific advancements and laboratory practices”.
Followed by detailed information in the program shared by Dr Noha Kamal, MSc. MLS Program Director shared detailed information about Vision, Mission, Program Learning Outcomes, Study plan, teaching, learning, assessment methods, the academic calendar, graduation requirements and research facilities.
Further, orientations on the learning resources, IT supports services related to learning and assessment, Students’ happiness centre and Mentorship program were explained in detail by the concerned staffs from university.
The Orientation session was concluded with a tour of GMU’s state-of-the-art facilities, Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine (TRIPM) and Thumbay labs, Ajman- diagnostic and reference lab accredited by College of American Pathologists (CAP).
Praveen Kumar, Dean, College of Health Sciences commented: “The graduate students have begun an exciting professional journey to build on their knowledge and skills with a bright future and great career ahead, especially when they will be trained in GMU’s state-of-the-art facilities under highly qualified faculty”.
