Department of Physiotherapy, College of Health Sciences, GMU, welcomed and inducted new students’ of 2024 cohort to the Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program on September 14th, 2024, by organizing an orientation program.
This orientation included a welcome address by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean, CoHS, followed with an address by Dr. Ramprasad M, Chairperson-Physiotherapy, on MPT specific Program Learning Outcomes and Dr. Watson, Program Director on study plan, academic calendar, faculty involved in teaching, assessment system, graduation requirements and mentorship program.
Students were introduced to the department’s mission, vision, and values.
Information related to library, IT resources, and online databases was explained Mr. Daies, Mr. Suraj.
Academic student affairs policies and procedures are explained, and students are introduced to student services on counseling, clubs and support by Ms. Burcu.
Ms. Shabina Quershi, MPT Alumni interacted and reiterated, ‘by understanding the department, its resources, and the expectations, students can better prepare themselves for their academic journey and future careers’.
The Orientation session was concluded with a tour of GMU’s state-of-the-art facilities, Thumbay Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital, Ajman.
