Dr. Mohammad Rawashdeh, Associate Professor, College of Health Sciences, GMU was invited as a guest speaker at the BREASTANBUL 2022 on breast cancer detection on 13h and 15th Oct 2022 held in Istanbul/Turkey where he delivered a talk on “Understanding the role of correct lesion assessment in radiologists’ reporting of breast cancer.” which was well appreciated by the organizers and international fraternity.

In spite of the innovations in breast imaging technology, Dr. Rawashdeh demonstrated that the miss rates for breast cancer at mammography screening have remained stable, ranging from 10-30% per year. While many factors have been linked to radiologist performance (such as volume of cases read, years of experience reading mammograms), little is known about the relationship between the cancers correctly reported by the radiologists and the characteristics of the background and the malignant lesion.
