Ergonomic workshop series for health care workers was initiated with collaboration with Thumbay hospitals as a part of community outreach for Physiotherapy students of College of Health Sciences. The aim of the workshop was to identify the ergonomic and occupational risk factors related to nurses and to screen work related musculo-skeletal injuries.

Dr Ramprasad. M Associate Professor, served as resource person with Ms. Sivapriya, Lecturer, Ms. Jawairiya Maqbool BPT Intern and MPT BPT students contributed in preparation of study material, multimedia, work-site evaluation using various evaluation questionnaire.
This workshop was conducted on 20.02.2019 for 40 nurses, on 20.03.2019 for 36 nurses and on 20.05.2019 for 22 nurses. Didactic sessions on factors contributing to and simulations were conducted to elucidate the risks involved in work related musculo-skeletal (MSK) problems. Sessions included work-place ergonomic analysis for risk assessment on stimulated activity of nursing tasks.

Ms. Sivapriya arranged logistical support and Ms. Sharon HR representative Thumbay Hospital, Ajman coordinated for smooth conduction of these sessions.
