Dr. Sahrish Qamar Joins Gulf Medical University College of Health Sciences

GMU, College of Health Sciences, faculty and staff welcomed Dr. Sahrish Qamar who joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging Sciences. Dr. Sahrish Qamar is from Pakistan where she began her professional career as a radiation technologist. After her experience in diverse research areas during her post-graduation, she worked as a Post-doctoral fellow in the Chinese University of Hong Kong till 2021.

Dr. Sahrish Qamar has a background in Medical Imaging Technology with a bachelor honors degree in Medical Imaging Technology from The University of Health Sciences. She obtained a Master degree in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine from Dalian Medical University and a doctorate in Imaging and Interventional Radiology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong which is one of the top 50 universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022.

Dr. Sahrish Qamar was awarded full funded scholarships during her Master and PhD studies in China and Hong Kong, respectively. She has published her research work in well reputed scientific journals and has presented her work at an international scientific conference where she was awarded with Highly Commended Oral Presentation.

Dr. Sahrish Qamar personal working experience as a radiation technologist and researcher will be valuable when it comes to serving as an educator in advancing Medical Imaging education and practice while her knowledge in research will serve to contribute significantly in the research output of GMU and College of Health Sciences.
