On September 6th, 2021, GMU College of Health Sciences, faculty and staff welcomed Dr. Rahul P Kotian after joining the College team as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging Sciences. Dr. Rahul joined from India where he worked in different capacities from Assistant Lecturer to the Professor and Head of the Department of Medical Imaging at various reputed universities and has an illustrious teaching and research experience of over 12 years.

Dr. Rahul P Kotian, is a doctorate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and he received his Ph.D., from Manipal College of Health Professions, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, Karnataka, India where he also won the best outgoing student award at the graduate and post-graduate level. Dr. Rahul was also the first Clinical PhD in MRI and Parkinson’s disease in Medical Imaging at India.
Dr. Rahul P Kotian was also recognized with Honorary Doctorate for excellence in the field of Medical Imaging Technology on 12th September 2021.
Dr. Rahul joined from the very reputed Manipal Academy of Higher education, Manipal, India where he served the University for a decade. Being a Doctorate in Medical imaging, Dr. Rahul will add significant value specially to both the existing Bachelor’s program and upcoming Master’s program in MIS.
The new appointment of Dr. Rahul P Kotian will serve to bring GMU and College of Health sciences notable visible research output and make many things possible when it comes to advancing Medical Imaging education and practice.
