Dr. Mostafa Abdelrahman, an Associate Professor of the Medical Imaging Sciences Department, delivered a thought-provoking and informative talk at GMU’s Research Day. The talk entitled “CBCT in Dentistry: A Game-Changer with Potential Risks” and centered around the topic of radiation dose in cone beam CT, a widely used imaging technique in dentistry, orthopedics, and other medical fields.
During the presentation, Dr. Abdelrahman highlighted the potential risks associated with radiation exposure in cone beam CT imaging, as well as the importance of providing the balance between radiation risks and benefits.
