On August 17th, 2022, GMU College of Health Sciences, faculty and staff welcomed Dr. Ahmed Khalid Abdullah after joining the College team as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging Sciences. Dr. Ahmed joined from Iraq where he worked in different capacities from Assistant Lecturer to the Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department Physiology and Medical Physics department at the University of Diyala and has an illustrious teaching and research experience of over 12 years.

Dr. Ahmed K. Abdullah is a doctorate in Medical Imaging Sciences, and he received his Ph.D., from the College of Health Sciences, University of Salford, UK.
Dr. Ahmed joined from the University of Diyala, Ministry of Higher education and scientific research, Iraq where he served the University for a decade. Being a Doctorate in Medical imaging, Dr. Ahmed will add significant value specially to both the existing Bachelor’s program and upcoming Master’s program in MIS.
The new appointment of Dr. Ahmed K. Abdullah will serve to bring GMU and the College of Health sciences notable visible research output and make many things possible when it comes to advancing Medical Imaging education and practice.
