Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, CoHS, organized a career advising session on “An Overview of Cytology Science and a Career of Cytology Screener” on Wednesday, 14th September at GMU.
The session was initiated by a welcome address by Dr. Ahmed Luay, Chairperson of the Department of MLS. Talk was delivered by Ms. Moonira Mullah Owner/Director of Mullah Laboratories for cytology, City of Johannesburg, South Africa, expert Cytotechnologist, she has had a very fulfilling career thus far in various roles. It was a very interactive session, students and faculty were learning the cutting edge in the field and the role of the cytology screener career.
Students’ interaction with the speaker addressed queries related to how to build a strong career in cytology screener and histopathology, and how can they improve themself in this field, followed by detailed information highlighting the principles of technology and application used in cytology.
