Department of Physiotherapy, CoHS, GMU welcomed the 2023 cohort of the BPT program on August 31, 2023.
Orientation included a welcome address by the Dean, CoHS, followed with an address by Dr. Ramprasad M, Chairperson-Physiotherapy, orienting the students towards the learning objectives of the BPT Program.

Detailed information about the study plan, procedures and policies of program and the university was delivered by Dr. Kumaraguruparan G, BPT Program Director.
Following this the students were introduced to all the courses they will take up in 1st year by lead faculty of respective courses. Students were introduced to Learning Management System (LMS) and various learning resources available in the university premises including library. They were also made aware about Student Happiness Centre (SHC) and completion of their registration process in the program. A tour of the facilities including GMU’s simulation centre and Thumbay Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Hospital ended with a get together between students and faculty.

Praveen Kumar, Dean, College of Health Sciences commented: “It is a great pleasure to welcome our 2023 cohort of BPT program students. Students have begun an exciting professional journey with a bright future and career ahead, especially when they will be trained in GMU’s state-of-the-art facilities under highly qualified faculty.” He laid stress on the importance of professional life and lifelong learning process.
