Department of Physiotherapy, College of Health Sciences (CoHS), Gulf Medical University (GMU) organized Orientation Program for the 2024 cohort of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) on August 29th, 2024. The department extended a warm welcome to the students and parents of the new cohort.
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean, College of Health Sciences welcomed the students of 2024 batch and their parent’s. He extended his valuable thoughts for the students those who have begun an exciting professional journey in the field of physiotherapy with a bright future and career ahead. Also, he emphasized the GMU’s state-of-the-art facilities for the student’s education and clinical training under highly qualified faculty.

Dr. Ramprasad M, Chairperson-Physiotherapy, oriented the students towards the learning objectives of the BPT Program. This session was followed by delivery of detailed information about the study plan and academic integrity of the program by Dr. Kumaraguruparan G, Program Director-BPT.

Following this Dr. Mamdouh. G, Class Coordinator elaborated the weekly schedule and list of courses in the first semester of the BPT program. Mr. Dais, Librarian, and Mr. Suraj. S Head of IT department addressed the Learning Management System (LMS) and various learning resources available in the university premises including library. Mr. Aslam. K, Registrar, explained the online process of equivalency certification followed by Ms. Burcu elaborated the students affairs departmental activities, facilities for students of determination and students club & wellbeing centres in the GMU campus.
Praveen Kumar, Dean, College of Health Sciences commented: “It is a great pleasure to welcome our 2024 cohort of BPT program students. Students have begun an exciting professional journey with a bright future and career ahead, especially when they will be trained in GMU’s state-of-the-art facilities under highly qualified faculty.” He laid stress on the importance of professional life and lifelong learning process.
