Department of Anesthesia Technology, College of Health Sciences, GMU hosted a Student Led Research Presentation Day on Wednesday, 3rd July 2025, celebrating the academic and research excellence of its final-year students.

Held in Lecture Hall 3, GMU the event brought together faculty members, peers, and—most meaningfully—the students’ families, creating an atmosphere of pride, support, and academic inspiration.
A series of student-led presentations showcased a diverse range of clinical and research topics relevant to modern anesthesia practice. These presentations demonstrated students’ capabilities in research methodology, data interpretation, and evidence-based application—skills essential for advancing clinical excellence in anesthesia.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ellen Safadi, Program Director of Anesthesia Technology, who applauded the students’ dedication and growth. She remarked, “What we witnessed today is not merely the culmination of academic effort—it is a reflection of intellectual maturity and a vision for future healthcare. These students have shown how research can directly contribute to safer, smarter anesthesia practice.”

Adding further significance to the occasion, Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of the College of Health Sciences, delivered an encouraging address. He stated, “Today’s event stands as a testament to the College’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student-centered learning. I am incredibly proud of our students—not only for the quality of their research but for their passion, resilience, and professionalism. I also commend the faculty for their mentorship and the families whose support has been the backbone of this journey.”

Student voices reflected a strong sense of pride and personal achievement.
Ahmed Sulfab (2021AT15) shared, “Presenting our research in front of our mentors and families was a moment of pride and validation. It reminded us of how far we’ve come—and how ready we are to step into the profession.”

Raghad Ali (2021AT20) added, “This was more than an academic milestone; it was a personal achievement. The presence of our families made it unforgettable.”

The event concluded with congratulatory remarks from faculty members, group photographs, and informal discussions. The celebration not only honoured students’ scholarly accomplishments but also reinforced the department’s commitment to cultivating future leaders and innovators in the field of anesthesia technology.
