Students from the Department of Physiotherapy at COHS provided top-notch on-field sports injury management services during the GMU Sports Festival 2025, held from February 3rd to 6th, 2025. Organized by the Student Affairs Department, the event attracted athletes from universities across the UAE.
Under the guidance of experienced faculty members, Physiotherapy students from both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs actively participated in providing on-field treatment for 33 cases. The most common sports injuries treated included abrasions, contusions, muscle cramps, sprains, strains, and open wounds.

To prepare students for this event, the Department of Physiotherapy organized a hands-on workshop titled “On-Field Sports Injury Management” on January 31, 2025.

The initiative showcased the Physiotherapy Department’s commitment to providing students with practical experience and promoting excellence in physiotherapy services.

Dr. Praveen, Dean CoHS commented, “This event provided our students with valuable real-world experience, enhancing their skills in sports injury management, while also reinforcing the importance of teamwork and immediate care during sports activities.”
