CoHS GMU conducts The Lower Limb Tendon Course

CoHS, GMU conducted a two day course on Lower Limb Tendon Injury facilitated by renowned Prof Jill Cook, Professor (Research), La Trobe Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre, La Trobe University, Australia on 4th and 5th of March 2020. The course was accredited for 09 CPD credit hours by DHA.

The course highlighted on developing participant professionals knowledge to confidently distinguish tendon pain from other causes of pain, know the role of imaging in management of tendon pain, assess the patient’s tendinopathy and devise a treatment program to  their goals and gain skills to implement a 4-stage treatment approach that includes different exercises and sport-specific rehabilitation.

Prof. Jill Cook visited the state of the art Thumbay Rehabilitation and Physical therapy Hospital and was highly impressed at the facilities and commended on the futuristic approaches in rehabilitation available in UAE.

Prof. Jill Cook commented:  We believe that these facilities are highly valuable to physiotherapy profession in the UAE. Partnership between the academics & professional organizations should improve the standards of continuous professional physiotherapy education on lower limb tendon management throughout their career life. Thus, patient’s satisfaction through better quality care can be achieved. Prof. Jill Cook is looking forward for working together with GMU.
