College of Health Sciences, GMU signed an agreement for strategic collaboration with Club-Physio (CP) and The Dry Needling Institute (DNI) represented by Director Dr. Craig Smith.
Club Physio based in South Africa and UK brings quality physiotherapy / orthopaedic medicine/ manual therapy / sports medicine courses and top-class lecturers with innovative and up-to-date multi-disciplinary CPD’s for the health care sector.

The MoU aims to promote cooperation in conducting Continuing Professional Development activities and research in Physical therapy.
Prof. Hossam Hamdy, the Chancellor, Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Vice Chancellor Academics, Dr Praveen Kumar K, Dean, College of Health Sciences represented GMU.
The MoU provides strategic avenues to use new technologies, maximize the utilization and effectiveness of the learning process and research facilities in the field of Physical Therapy.

The CP & DNI team visited the state of the art Thumbay Rehabilitation and Physical therapy Hospital and were highly impressed at the facilities and commended on the futuristic approaches in rehabilitation being available in UAE.
CP & DNI Director Dr. Craig Smith commented: We believe that this collaboration is highly valuable to physiotherapy profession in the UAE. Partnership between the academics & professional organizations should improve the standards of continuous professional activities and physiotherapists education throughout their career life. Thus, patient’s satisfaction through better quality care shall be achieved. CP & DNI is looking forward for working together with GMU.
Dean Dr. Praveen Kumar Commented: The agreement will provide opportunities to conduct professional development programs that would empower the working professionals and the students of Physical therapy who are the future professionals. This will certainly contribute to quality improvement in both our BPT and MPT programs.
