Gulf Medical University (GMU), the most sought-after private medical university in the Gulf region, has introduced the Associate Degree in Preclinical Sciences (ADPCS) program, wherein the students will do the 3-year pre-clinical phase at GMU, followed by the 3-year clinical phase at Ghana and receive a medical degree MBChB from the University of Ghana.

Commenting on the transnational collaborative program, Prof. Hossam Hamdy, the Chancellor of Gulf Medical University said, “To meet the ever-increasing demand for medical professionals, GMU is facilitating the students to carry out pre-clinical studies in GMU. The students will be registered for the MBChB program at the collaborating University, University of Ghana, which will be awarding the final degree.”

The total number of seats for the collaborative program is 25, out of which a limited number of seats are available for desirous students. Students wishing to apply for the same should have completed 12 years of schooling, and should also fulfill the other pre-requisites for admission into the program.

It is located in Accra, the capital city of the country. The University of Ghana runs its medical degree program through its School of Medicine & Dentistry (UGSMD). The University’s medical degree program is an accredited 6-year program based on the British school system.

Addressing the need for innovative programs in medicine, GMU will be introducing transnational collaboration program with the Medical University of Lublin, Poland, with an intake of 25 students. The details of this will be announced shortly.
