Gulf Medical University (GMU) hosted an impactful Faculty and Staff Development Workshop on January 16th, 2025, titled “Safeguarding: Ensuring Learners’ Well-being and a Safe, Abuse-Free Environment. Coordinated by the HR Department of Gulf Medical University, this event highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering a safe educational environment.” The session, delivered by Prof. Mayssah El Nayal, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Personality at the College of Medicine, focused on equipping faculty and staff with essential safeguarding strategies. Prof. Mayssah commenced the session by underscoring the importance of safeguarding in the educational environment.
The workshop, which attracted 134 participants, covered several crucial topics:
