Webinar on Interprofessional Care in Pneumonia

GMU Interprofessional Education (IPE) Committee organized a ‘Webinar on Interprofessional Care in Pneumonia’ on October 10, 2020. The webinar was accredited by the Ministry of Health & Prevention, UAE for 2 CME hours.
Interprofessional care is a collaborative practice approach for a harmonious process of patient care. Teamwork produces better patient outcomes and efficient healthcare delivery. Managing pneumonia is challenging, especially COVID-19 pneumonia. The expertise of professionals from different health professions is required to provide integrated care.
Dr. Dixon Thomas, Chair, GMU Interprofessional Education Committee coordinated the webinar. This webinar demonstrated how Gulf Medical University / Thumbay University Hospital professionals from Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Dental, and Healthcare Management & Economics backgrounds work together in managing patients with pneumonia. An integrated care model was presented by the GMU/TUH staff:
