Gulf Medical University hosted an Orientation for New Faculty and Staff on September 22, 2023, led by the HR department. This orientation aimed to familiarize incoming faculty and staff members with GMU’s culture, expectations, and the wealth of resources available.
Ms. Cristeta Contaoi, Institutional Research-Deputy Manager representing the QA&IE Unit, introduced the cutting-edge QA&IE portal, meticulously designed and developed by the QA&IE team.

This portal serves as a central hub for GMU stakeholders, featuring a diverse range of applications, including strategic planning tools, faculty and student platforms, mentorship programs and many more.
Ms. Cristeta presented a detailed walkthrough on how to access and efficiently navigate the QA&IE portal, emphasizing the unit’s pivotal role in upholding and enhancing GMU’s steadfast commitment to excellence.

During the orientation, attendees were introduced to an array of applications within the QA&IE Portal, with a particular focus on the Faculty Profile app, where faculty members can effortlessly create their Curriculum Vitae (CV). The portal boasts a suite of features encompassing CV creation, Appraisal forms, Course files, Survey reports, Mentorship, Activities, Policies, Meeting Minutes, report submission, Teaching Assignment, and other applications that play a crucial role in gathering essential data for submissions to the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) CHEDS (Center for Higher Education Data and Statistics).
This thorough orientation ensures that new faculty and staff members are well-prepared with the essential resources required to make valuable contributions to GMU’s unwavering pursuit of excellence, thus ensuring a smooth and seamless transition into their respective roles.
